FOOD FOR THOUGHT

At one time or another, most of us have had an idea that excites us for a second – only to immediately bury it under a pile of self-doubt and imaginary criticism.

How many times when that’s happened have you just tried it anyway?

Some of the happiest, most fulfilled people aren’t the ones who had the perfect plan: They’re the ones who said to themselves, “Who cares, let’s try.”

They did the thing that excited them not because they were fearless, but because they just blocked out the self-doubt.

It turns out, that even if some of the things you DO act on don’t turn out just right, that doing something – even imperfectly – builds momentum and confidence, which just happens to lead to unexpected joy.

Trying leads to surprises you’d never find by giving in to that self-doubt, so the next time a little idea, a curiosity, a creative itch hits you, don’t overthink it. Don’t wait for it to make sense. Just say to yourself: “Who cares?” and try.
